BOOK FAIR A HUGE SUCCESS
The 5th-8th grade Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success. We sold over $5000 in books and the Media Center receives 60% of sales! That's a lot of new books!
If you saw a book in the Book Fair that you were not able to purchase, check the library search stations to see if the media center purchased it.

Upcoming: Book Fair
The Book Fair for 5th-8th graders will be September 13-17th. We should have some exciting titles including Mocking Jay, the newest in the 39 Clues series, and the Clique series. We will have tons of great books to pick from all at great prices. Don't worry 4th grade! Your fair is in February.
We are in need of parent volunteers to help the week of the 13th. Please email or call Mrs. Wilson. chloe.wilson@bremencs.com or 770-537-4874.

Welcome Back!
We are back into the full swing of things in the media center. We have so many great new books I can't even begin to list them all. One new series worth noting is the Poison Apple series. It's from the creators of the Candy Apple series. We also got several new Will Hobbs and Roland Smith books for the boys. And I can't tell you how excited I am about the third Hunger Games book, Mocking Jay, that comes out on the 24th. I already have a HUGE waiting list for that one.

Summer Reading
Summer is here and it's time to relax, but not time to let our reading skills slip. Studies show that reading just a few books each summer keeps students from losing ground over the break. Visit Scholastic some great ideas for summer reading. http://printables.scholastic.com/printables/detail/?id=42275

New School Year
Wow! We are off to a great start this year. We have tons of new books for you to come check out. Our themed section for Aug/Sept is SPORTS! We are also starting a book club. If you didn't sign up on club registration day, come by the media center and see me. There are still a few spaces left. The fee is $25 and that pays for the 5 books we will be reading.
